James Walker, M.D.,FACP, Geisinger Health System’s chief health information officer,
a general internist and nationally recognized expert on electronic health records,
Walker has served as Geisinger’s chief health information officer since 2001. He
is the author of numerous articles on health information technology, innovation
and safety focusing on the need to implement and optimize EHRs that support value-added
(high-quality, high-efficiency) care processes rather than isolated tasks (Walker,

467-477.) Walker also serves as executive director of the Electronic Health Record
Safety Institute, a national group of IT leaders focused on identifying and disseminating
knowledge and best practice regarding the safe and effective development, implementation
and continuing optimization of electronic health information systems. Dr. Walker
was appointed in 2009 to The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health
Information Technology Standards Committee.

Joel White, Executive Director, Health IT Now Coalition

Joel White director of the HealthIT Now Coalition and is former staff director of
the U.S. House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee. Mr. White runs Washington, D.C.
based consulting firm, JC White Consulting, and provides clients with strategic,
political and policy advice to help navigate the Congressional and Regulatory processes.
His focus is primarily on health and tax issues. In addition, he is a Visiting Senior
Fellow at the Galen Institute, a non-profit research organization devoted to health

John Klimek John Klimek R.Ph. is Senior Vice President, Industry Information Technology
with the National Council forPrescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). His main objective
in this current position at NCPDP is to work with industry leaders in healthcare
to achieve interoperability amongst the healthcare standards, which will ultimately
increase healthcare efficiencies and safety. He also is the chair of the SCO (Standards
Charter Organization) Summit, who’s mission is to provide an environment that
facilitates effective coordination and collaboration on U.S. national healthcare
informatics standards development, with recognition of the international and multi-industry
stakeholder implications and challenges. John also sits on the HIT Standards Committee
created by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC). Previously Klimek held
several volunteer positions with NCPDP; that being Board of Trustee, Chair of Strategic
Planning Committee and Work Group 2 – Product Identification Co-Chair to name
a few. Previous to joining NCPD staff, John was manager of pharmacy claims pre and
post claims processing at Supervalu pharmacies where he has 30+ years of strong
and comprehensive management experience in the pharmacy health care field. He has
enjoyed a successful career developing and implementing aggressive growth strategies,
utilizing a management style to make significant impacts on pharmacy claims processing,
margin control, product quality and service levels. During his employment at Supervalu,
he also was instrumental in implementing and rollout of new pharmacy standards (NCPDP
Telecom and Script standards) to its 2,000 stores. John holds a B.S. Degree in Pharmacy
from the University of Illinois School of Pharmacy.

Judy Murphy is a nurse who is Vice President, Information Services at Aurora Health
Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she is responsible for all application software
supporting patient clinical and business operations within the Aurora acute care
venues. She has published and lectured nationally and internationally on system
implementation methodologies, automated clinical documentation, and the use of technology
to support evidence-based practice. She is on the American Medical Informatics Association
Board of Directors, is a Fellow in both the American College of Medical Informatics
and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and was the recipient
of the 2006 HIMSS Nursing Informatics Leadership Award. In November 2007, she was
named one of the “20 People Who Make Healthcare Better” by HealthLeaders magazine.

Frederick H. (Rick) Blake, Principal and Chief Health Strategist, Strategic
Health ResourcesRick Blake is a founding member of the National Collaborative,
a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
and has served other legislative Members in the U.S. House of Representatives for
about a decade. He served as the senior health policy adviser to Congressman Ed
Towns, (10th New York) for work related to the Subcommittee on Health, the Energy
